TMI Question re discharge

So, yesterday I had an internal exam.  Lots of poking going on.  I was 1 cm.

Today when I go to the bathroom, I'm getting a little bit of pink-brownish discharge.  Is this because of the internal?  Is it pieces of my mucus plug?

Or is this something I should call the doctor about?

    It's from the poking during the internal.  Stuff gets dislodged.  No need to worry.  I never liked the internals.  They are very uncomfortable, especially when you are in active labor.

    They said at our baby class if it's just a little bit of blood after an internal exam, then it's normal.  But don't be afraid to call if you're concerned at all.

    Excellent.  That's what I thought, but just wanted to double check.  My last internal didn't result in any discharge but I also was not dilated at all.

    Also, FWIW, I don't think the mucus plug warrants a call to the doctor. It's pretty routine (especially considering how far along you are).

    It sounds like it's just from your cervix being sensitive during the exam.  I got that with DD and now I get it everytime we have sex.
