reintroducing myself

Hi ladies. I was on the GP board for about 6 months last year and took some time away from the boards due to a busy school year. Just wanted to introduce myself as I don't recognize a lot of the names on here!

Here's a short version of our IF "story":

Been ttc #1 since last June. About 3 months ago, my family doctor advised us to see a specialist. Found out that I am not ovulating "strongly enough" and that we are dealing with MFI.  3 SAs and bw has been done and all numbers are much lower than they should be.

After the first SA, the doctor was not optimistic about IUI as an option. However, we got a call today that confirmed that DH's post-wash number is 1.98 which means we can try the IUI. I'll be calling them once AF arrives in a few weeks to get everything set up for our first IUI and I'm really nervous...especially for the HSG which I have heard horror stories about :(  BUT at least we finally have a plan in place.

Anyways, nice to meet all of you :)

  • Thanks girls!

Bella- we had three also but we lost our Rocky to heart disease a few months ago. Now we have two little black pugs- Adrian and Rambo :) We rescued Adrian from a puppy mill where she was overbred and treated horribly and she has been such an awesome addition to our family. Pugs are the best :)

  • Hi!

I, too, hope your first IUI brings you a BFP.

The HSG isnt so bad. I was a little crampy. It was more uncomfortable lying there with the speculum for 15 min or so.

  • Welcome to the board and good luck with your IUI!

Don't worry too much about the HSG.  It really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.  And it is over very quickly!
