I know that people on here don't really mention what adoption agency/attorney they are using. I have begun the process with an adoption agency but I want to make sure this is a very reputable company. From what I am reading on their website they sound great, but of course they are going to make themselves sound good. Is there any way for me to check? Are there websites reviewing agencies or anything like that? I just really want to make sure everything goes smoothly (or as smoothly as possible).
Thanks!
Re: Adoption Agencies
I don't know of any websites - others may.
I do want to say that make sure you get names of references. You know they will give you only good references, so you need to question those references in a way where negative things may come out. Example: "Can you tell me one thing you wish the agency was better at? We crossed 2 or 3 agencies off our list with some responses we received. Some stated how wonderful the agency was, but when asked this question, went on and on about how awful they were at communication. So, try to ask questions that will expose some other things. HTH!
There are agency reviews on adoptionagencyreviews.com.
I see you're in Indiana... I work with an agency that is licensed there... you can PM me with your agency name, if you want, and I'll see if it is my agency.
How do I PM? I cannot figure it out
Thank you soooooo much for the website, the company I was talking to has HORRIBLE reviews. I do not want that!
