What have you seen/given/received for your DC as a 2nd birthday gift?

DD's birthday is 2 months before Christmas and I'm thinking about doing a play kitchen and table/chairs set for her between the 2 holidays.  I'm looking for other ideas that the grandparents can give her.  They insist on getting her something (even though we'll probably do a "no gifts please" small party this year- we want to celebrate the birthday but we are running out of room for toys!) and I want to be sure I'm not missing anything important!

Does she already have a tricycle?

K1 got one for Christmas when he was 18 months old but didn't really pedal until he was 2. He loves his tricycle. K2 loves to play with his brother's trike too.

Isn't it crazy to think you'll have a 2 year old so soon??!

We were going to do a tricycle but decided not too because she would want to ride it all the time and with the weather being so hot it wouldn't be fair to her, so we are waiting until the fall to get it for her. Instead we got her the iPod touch (yes I know she is 2 but she has also broken my iphone 2 times by trowing it because she wanted a movie to come on) and the heavy duty case I am blanking on the name right now. We also got her the Pottery Barn Carolina table and chairs.

thanks for all the ideas, guys.  I agree - that contraption at the rear of that poor animal thingy is a bit scary and I don't know that I'd want DD seeing that!
