we will probably register at both BRU and BBB, but maybe tell people to check out amazon.com and diapers.com too. not sure. i'm hoping to start the registry this weekend.

Target sucks for returns, but 80% of my shower guests shopped at Target. I think many people share my sentiment about BRU - they hate the place and avoid it at all costs!
I had many of the same items on my Target and BRU registries and would delete off each one as things were purchased.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
I registered at BRU and PBK. I would have skipped BRU and just registered at BBB but they were just building the store and it didn't open until dd was born. My experiences dealing with BRU were just ok but I've always had great customer service and help while shopping at BBB.

We are thinking of doing a universal registry on amazon. Does anyone have experience with this? It seems like the best option since our families and friends are spread out across the country and we will most likely be flying to showers so the free shipping is nice. Plus I like the option of adding one or two items from a certain store to the same registry. WDYT?

I figure I will register at Buy Buy Baby. I have had only good experiences there with my friends registries, I can use the Bed Bath and Beyond 20% off couupons there and I had a great experience at Bed Bath for my wedding registry. I am assuming the two stores can't be that different with respect to returns, etc.
I don't think we will register anywhere else as I don't plan to have a "themey" nursery so no PBK bedding, etc. for us!
babies r us and target....i also have a very small registry at best for babies which is a small boutique my mom's friend owns (but they do online as well)
1 chemical and 1 loss at 9 weeks prior to DS IVF #1 1/10-transfered 2 blasts- DS born 10/2010
Trying for # 2 since 2012. 2 failed FETS 1 failed IUI.
I have heard horror stories from people about returning things to Target, even if they're on your registry, so we're steering clear of there.
My step-sister was registered through Amazon and I thought it was easy but I was annoyed that EVERYTHING got shipped separately b/c it was coming from different places.

Babies R Us....but now they are building a Buy Buy Baby by us, I just don't know if I want to register at two places, especially since I've never really seen other BBB here so I don't think most people in our area have them.
DS (7 years old) from FET in 2010 DD (5 years old) from IUI in 2012 TTC 3rd and final!: IUI #1 in progress!
I'm in monmouth county. I'm driving an hour to cherry hill to go to their Buy Buy Baby, because it really is supposed to be the absolute best. AND you can access the registry online.
We're definitely going to register at buy buy baby, and probably babies r us as well, just for the convenience factor.

BRU and Target. So far my only issue has been BRU changing stuff on my registry from girl to boy.
I did my wedding registry at Target and I also worked there for 5 and a half years during school, and have never had any issue with the return polcy for a registry.
Save some time to dream, cause your dream might save us all" DX: PCOS & Endo Cycle # 184,943 January 2010 Follistim, trigger, B2B IUI = BFP on Febuary 14, 2010
I've heard nightmare stories about BRU return policy (especially for internet purchases, which can only be returned by shipping them back), but we don't have a BBB so I don't have much of a choice. I was thinking about maybe target, but based on the above, maybe I need to rethink that as well. There are some local boutique stores which I will also register at.

BRU and Target. Those are the only ones convenient for people coming to my shower. We don't have ANY BBB around but I've heard on here how great they are.
We did Target and BRU. I don't have any complaints about either...I had a TON of returns to target and it worked out just fine!! We had gotten some duplicates, but that was fine with me because I used the store credit to get cloth diapers and other things that I needed that were only available online. I had thought about doing an amazon registry..but most people don't seem to like shopping online.
BRU and Target. So far my only issue has been BRU changing stuff on my registry from girl to boy.
You too?? BRU keeps changing some of my stuff from boy to girl! I've changed the same set of pacifiers back to blue twice now.
To OP: We registered at BRU and Target, plus, we did a WalMart registry for a shower at DH's hometown. (WalMart is the closest store, it was a shower with a bunch of old people that wouldn't drive 45 minutes to another town, so we wanted to accommodate them.)
There is no BBB in the Milwaukee area. We will register at BRU and Target, but register for as much as we can with Target. Possibly PBK but for bedding only, or I may just tell my sister what the bedding is and she'll just buy it since that's what she wants to get us.

We registered at Target, BRU and Wal Mart. If we had a BBB anywhere closer than 5 hours away, I'd have definitely registered there!
Another good place for a universal registry is Myregistry.com. A friend of mine did this and was able to put stuff from Etsy, and all kind of other websites on her registry.

We would have preferred to register at Buy Buy Baby, but there aren't any near our family members, only near us. So we ended up going with amazon.com and Babies R Us because everybody has easy access to a BRU.
TTC with unexplained IF since 8/2007
6 losses, one beautiful perfect boy in our arms
Babies R Us and Buy Buy Baby. If you have a BBB near you, they are simply AMAZING!
This!! BBB has a personal shopp feature that is the best!! The staff will take u around the entire store during off hrs.. And help do u registry. It takes all the guess work out of it. We also did
a small one at Pottery Barn Kids..
We don't have BBB or Target...boo! So if I do register (and the jury's out on that right now - I'm not sure I will, esp. since I do NOT want a shower...) it will be at BRU. And not for many many weeks!
Most likely Babies R Us and BBB. I work part-time at Pottery Barn so I will get some bedding from there. So excited to finally be able to use my discount at PBK. Wooo hooo
