Poop question

Carson has no issues pooping on the potty, he is completely day trained and has been since 2.5.  But when he goes poop it seems like he doesn't get it all the way out, almost like he wants to hop off the potty and look at it and tell us "he did it"  he has had a handful of times where he says he has to keep pooping so I will put him back on the potty and he gets a ton more out.  But mostly he claims he is done.......well it makes him constipated and makes his poop hard........anyone's dc do this?  how did you remedy this?

A few days a week, K Says she's done and then 5-10 mins later she has to go back. I think it's just something they will have to learn on their own. I try to give her a Book to keep her sitting longer.
