Holy fast delivery!

My best friend was induced last night (2nd baby.) She was 3+cm when she went in (had been having contractions off and on for days) - they gave her cytotec (sp?) and contractions started happening more. Epidural sometime early am.

Now for the crazy part - at 9:10am she was checked and was 8cm dilated. Dr left the room, baby's heart started doing crazy things, they had A get in different positions - then called Dr. B back in. She said they had to get the baby out, would probably have to use forceps, but wanted A to try pushing once. One push - head came out! They had to stop to clean her up because she (the baby) had pooped during the night. 2 more pushes - baby girl is born! That was at ... 9:17!

So to recap - 8cm at 9:10am .... baby born after 3 pushes 7 MINUTES later!

Wow! Congrats to her!! That sounds very similar to my delivery experience. It was such a whirlwind!

Yep! Eleanor Grace - I think we guessed Eleanor, didn't we? I haven't heard yet what they'll be calling her - they were trying to decide between 2 nicknames. Maybe Ella or Ellie? (Total guess there though.)

haha, yep that's what we guessed!! The Beatles clue totally gave it away, especially since she said there was a nickname and it wasn't Lucy. I vote for Ellie, but that's just my opinion. Tell her I said congrats! I've seen her comment on your fb a few times and thought about requesting to be her friend but I didn't know if she'd know who I was or think I'm some crazy internet person. haha.

a lady here at work, her step-daughter just had a baby 4 or 5 months ago. her name is eleanor grace and they nicknamed her ellie
