My RE Rx provera for 7 days. I had always taken it for 10 days when my OBGYN Rx it. Does anyone know why one would be Rx over the other?
I always got AF about 3 days after the 10 Rx, I know it can still take up to two weeks to get AF, but I am wondering if I will start with in the same time frame?
Has anyone had any experience taking it for 10 days and then 7 days? When did you start AF after each?

I actually asked my RE about this last time I was in b/c he prescribe me 12 days instead of 10. He said he could give it to me for 1 day or 15 and I'd still bleed, but it is meant to mimic the progesterone in the cycle of a "normal" woman therefore allowing the lining to shed "normally." He said if this is not done with a sufficient amount of progesterone, there could be a build up of endometrium which could cause issues, even cancer if it is extreme.
I felt a lot more willing to take the recommended dosage after he explained it since at first I was kind of annoyed at waiting another 2 days to start my cycle.
HTH!
When I got it from my GYN, it was 10 days and I got my period within about 3 days of the last pill. When I get it from my RE, it's for 7 days and I get my period within about 5 days.
I don't know why one is prescribed over the other, though.
It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!
