TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Holy Vitex Batman!

It appears to be working! I got a surprise peak reading yesterday (on CD 16) and a positive opk today! I usually don't have peaks until CD 20-25.

So, any and all vitex users, do you continue after a positive opk or stop taking then? I know it's not advised for early pregnancy, so I'm thinking of stopping now just like I do with my red raspberry leaf tea.

(And why have I now convinced myself that my CBEFM is wrong and I'm not ovulating after all? My brain is annoying).

Connor Thomas 6/6/08. Discovered missed miscarriage at 17 wks 3 days, D&C 11/25/09. Please, please, please - BFP 5/21/11, EDD 2/1/11. Beta@12DPO=52, Beta@14DPO=158. U/S 7/7/11 shows strong baby measuring a couple days ahead!!! Pregnancy Ticker
  • That is great news!  I'm hoping for +OPK in the next day or so too.  I guess the meds didn't trick my body into O'ing early on its own this time.  I don't know anything about vitex, but I'm glad it seems to be working for you.

  • Yay!  I thought it might work for you!  I hope that CBEFM is right.

From what I understand, it's important to take it through the LP if you want the extra help with progesterone production.  I took the full dose until 7dpo, then took a half dose until I got my BFP (which, incidentally, was the next day).

  • That's wonderful news!  Yay Vitex!

It moved my O date up 3 days my first cycle using it.  I took it all the way through my cycle.  This time, I might cut it out a few days early, just to be on the safe side.

  • Thanks ladies. I'll keep taking it for another week or so, then. Hoping the bloody hag stays away and I don't have to repeat next cycle, but I'm glad it had an effect so soon. It's supposed to work cumulatively, right?
