NL Moms - Corner Brook hospital
Baby #2 due in September. My first was born in Ontario - had a midwife at Trillium in Mississauga- everything was great! Now I'm back "home" in Newfoundland and will be having baby at the Corner Brook hospital (my only option).
So far, I've heard very little good about birth experience in Corner Brook. I was with a good friend who gave birth last June and of the 10 births in the hospital that day, NINE were c-sections!! My friend even had a c-section because the doctor felt she wasn't progressing within his time constraints. (she was admitted at 6:30am at 2 cm's and by mid-afternoon was 6cm's - personally I thought that was good progress, especially for a first baby!).
She also wanted to breastfeed and the nurses kept giving her son formula because her milk wasn't in - duh!! Milk can take a few days to come in!
Anyways, I'm hoping someone might have a GOOD birth story from Corner Brook so I don't torture myself with negative anticipation....anyone?
