Do these sound like Stripper Names!?!

If DH and I end up having a little girl 2 names we like are

Tabitha

and

Daphne

I told my best friend this and she said that these names reminder her of names she would see on the catwalk at a strip club...

Tabitha we got from the bible and Daphne I have always liked.

Do you agree with my friend or is she crazy?

I don't object to either one, but Tabitha does tend to be a chosen name of pornstars and strippers. However, not so exclusively that you couldn't use it. My first thought is actually Tabitha from Bewitched.

I like both but I think it depends what mn you pick and what your last name is. I think there's a big difference in stripper potential between something like:

Tabitha Jane Williams 

or 

Tabitha Jasmine Fox

Your friend is nutso.  They're lovely old fashioned and I'd even say modest names.  I think most strippers have more sing songy names like Luscious Laela or something like that.  Not saying that Laela is a stripper name either, but rather most of them to my knowledge have a descriptive non-name as well.

Daphne is a great choice.  I've never cared for Tabitha.  Neither really sound like a stripper name to me, but I've known some rather annoying Tabithas through the years.

To OP: The reason they could be interpreted as "Stripper Names" is because they do sound so modest and old fashioned. Another Bumpie recently posted that strippers sometimes have modest names like Prudence on purpose.

Daphne reminds me of Daphne Moon on "Frasier" (which is a good association). I think the character's name was chosen to reflect her unique personality: eg believing in spirits and telling the future etc.

A similar name to me is Phoebe... probably because of Friends, where Phobe had similar traits.

love them both, Daphne more than Tabitha. Go for it! Not stripper like at all! Daphne is elegant I think, and Tabitha is actually rather traditional. Cute!

I know several Tabitha's and I wouldn't name my child Tabitha just bc of how these girls are lol. It may be the name, IDK
