FINALLY starting to show a little!

Woo Hoo!!! I finally have a little baby bump. It's a tiny little bump, that apparently only DH & I can see. My mom & the MIL both STILL say that I'm "too thin" and "need to be eating more", but I'm honestly doing ALL that I can while staying healthy for me & the LO. I've always been thin, and have only gained 3 lbs. I'm sure this will change soon, but I'm getting frustrated by people who tell me "You need to gain weight!" and "When I was as far along as you, I was WAY bigger!". I'm only 5ft tall, my PP weight was only 103lbs. I'm NATURALLY small! I want to tell them to just get over it!!! How far along were some of you when you started to show?  Did anyone else have to deal with people who got on you for not being bigger? I noticed that they have NO problem telling you when they think you're "Huge" or "Too Small". ANNOYING!

You're still pretty early, so I wouldn't worry.  And even if you don't ever get big, as long as your doc is ok with your gain, who cares.  I have a friend that is probably 5'2", and she's naturally tiny.  I met her in Nov 07 when I started the job we worked at together, and she was due in Mar 08, and you couldn't even tell she was pregnant.  I didn't even know until much later when someone told me.

I'm 5'0" and was about 110 when I got pregnant with DD.  Strangers couldn't even really tell I was pregnant til 20 weeks or so.  Those that knew me could tell sooner, but that's just me.  This time around, I'm much bigger, but they say you show sooner with your second baby.  Bottom line, as long as your doctor isn't concerned, no one else should be either!

This. I would much rather see someone eating healthy and gaining small amounts of weight (as long as their dr. is okay with it, of course) than someone who lets themselves go and gains a ton of weight. I'm about 5 days behind you and am starting to get a small bump (I'm also short too, so I expected to pop a little earlier). I haven't gained a pound yet (although I had about ten extra pounds on me when I got pregnant). I have a friend two months ahead of me who has gained 20 pounds and brags about how much she's gained and that she eats whatever she wants and doesn't exercise. We'll see how much she loves that when she has a hard time losing the weight!

I just started showing to strangers at 24 or so weeks, and I've gained 4 more pounds in the past two weeks.People who knew me(besides DH who could tell way earlier)said I started showing around 18-20.Everyone is different.Everyone tells me how I "must be wrong"because there is no way I'm almost 7 months..everyone will always say you are too big or too small.

As long as you're eating healthy and having good habits, don't worry and don't listen to anyone but your doc!

I am not tiny but I just started to show in the past week or two. I have gained 2 pounds.

I talked to my Doctor today and she said that is great and to try and only gain 5 pounds total before the 3rd Trimester.

I agree I would rather see people be healthy and gain less weight than gain tons of weight and be unhealthy.

Don't worry about it if your doctor is ok with your size.  It's easier said than done.  I started to show to DH and I around 14 weeks, but my clothes still fit and nobody else could tell.  Around 18 weeks one of my students noticed and called me out at school.  My friends and family can see my belly when I'm wearing the right shirts, but strangers still look at me like they can't tell if I'm fat or pregnant.

Some people are just small and stay that way.  I startef off PP 5'10" and 134 and have gained about 3 lbs so far.  My midwife isn't concerned bc other than weight, I'm measuring right on target.  Just continue to eat well and let your body and the baby gain what they need.

I'm also quite small and thin naturally, but because of that I started to show by 13 weeks already - though I also had only gained a couple of pounds by then.

Now, at 21 weeks, I've gained 15 pounds and definitely SHOW - some people still tell me I'm tiny, others can't believe how big I am.

Every body is different, and everyone has an opinion. Just try to tune them out!

Ignor what others tell you. Everyone is different in every way. I look at pictures of ladies that are 14 weeks and they have a big baby bump, yet again I am 16 weeks and I havnt even got a little bump and when I went to the dr. On the 23rd I only weighed 120 which is only a couple pounds more than what I usually weigh but because your not big yet doesn't mean you and your baby are not healthy mine is and like I said I only gained a couple of pounds not wat I was expecting since I feel so heavy. But hopefully this helps to answer your question.
