Does your DC make "plans" with their friends?

I pick DD up from daycare she has all sorts of plans (flower parties, swimming parties, play princess) events planned with a neighborhood girl.  We get home and she wants to go to this girls house right away.  I tell her "no, you weren't invited."  She was to argue with me that her little friend invited her which may be so but I don't know that the girl's parent knows.  So, I don't want to send her over in her swim suit/princess outfit unless I am told...it's frustrating.

  • Allison has done this with a girl on the bus.  I only know her first name and that she lives in a blue house.

  • DD does all of that AND she also clears it with the other kid's parents.  I'm amazed at how many adults take an invite from a 4 yo seriously.  I've been in more than one embarrassing situation where a parent will pass me at pick-up and say, "See you on Saturday!" and I have no idea what they are talking about, only to find out my DD invited a friend over and then checked with the friend's parent but NOT me.

lol. This is something that I can see Preston doing in the near future. He already goes over to the neighbors house (not invited) to see his toy planes (he is an 80 year old man)...lol.
