These are a few of the fun things MIL said this past weekend:
- the baby has heat rash on her head from riding in the car and needs a bath to get rid of it (there was no heat rash, she hadn't been in a car, and had been bathed 15 minutes earlier)
- the baby shouldn't be in the infant swing because the swing is going to give her Shaken Baby Syndrome.
- when it is windy the baby needs to have her head covered because she has soft spots and the wind will go into the soft spots and get into her head.
- I shouldn't take the baby out in the night air because if she breathes it in it will get in her bones.
Yes - my MIL believes a lot of old wives tales but I know everything she said was out of love. The family just laughed it off. Oh and SIL told me (in all seriousness) that the reason her daughter was born with the umbilical cord around her next was because SIL lifted her hands above her head too many times in late pregnancy. Yup, gotta love those that live by myths. :-)
Re: MIL-isims
LOL. Those cracked me up.
totally cracked me up too! Good ones! Keep em coming.
Do you think she's scared of the air?
I just made this face: four or five times.
I actually kind of love these things when you know their said out of love... and when the person saying them lives across the country. Lol. Your MIL amuses me.
Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD

LOL! Watch out for that wind, you don't want an airhead for a daughter.
