I thought I would post this here too since a lot of you were following my story. Tomorrow is the end of chemo and it can't come fast enough. While I started off great, the past couple of months have been super rough with the chemo giving me out of control anemia. I've had 2 blood transfusions and 1 platelet transfusion. Last time, I got super sick since my red blood cells dipped so low that I couldn't get out of bed for a week and I couldn't take care of DD. They are adjusting my chemo dosage tomorow by reducing it by 20 - 50% (the doc assures me that I'll still get the full benefit of the treatment even if it is reduced) and there are standing orders for another blood transfusion next week if I need it.
I honestly can't believe the process is almost over. It feels like just yesterday I was posting that my chemo was starting and here I am almost finished. So much has happened since then - including my mom getting a total hysterectomy on Monday as a result of the genetic testing we all underwent (and her finding out she's a carrier). Hopefully I saved HER life by going through this.
I'm looking forward to no doctors or blood draws for awhile. We're having a "chemo is over" party in July.
Thanks for being so supportive of me in my journey. All the good wishes and prayers have really helped to get me through!
Re: XP: NBR - My last chemo is tomorrow!
I'm sorry it's been rough. But...
I'm thrilled it's so close to being over! Enjoy that party. I hope it's a big one. You deserve it.
Woohoo! I am so glad that it is almost over, and hope you get to put this all behind you. The party is a great idea and I hope you have a blast.
Thanks for updating us and sharing your great news over here!!
