Breech at 32 weeks...anyone's baby flip after this point?

I had an ultrasound yesterday that showed baby is breech.  I know the baby still has many weeks to flip but most everyone I know who had breech babies at this point all had breech babies at the time of delivery. I am terrified to have a c-section with my thrombocytopenia (low platelets). Anyone have a baby who flipped?

  • My midwife said it's not important for them to be head down until around 35/36 weeks. I literally felt when my LO flipped around 33/34 weeks.... I know there are methods they can use to flip LO if they don't do it on thier own....

    Good luck! :)

  • My baby flipped at 32 weeks, 4 days I believe. The next morning I woke up and felt movement that was distinctly new and different and went to the doctor later and it had flipped.

My baby was heads down at 31 weeks but the dr said it didn't matter yet bc they are still moving around and can change positions all the time. I've also heard of babies flipping as late as in the delivery room
  • Plenty of time, LO is still doing somersaults at that point. Don't give it a second thought until at least 36 weeks.

  • I am 39 weeks 3 days and my LO is still somersaulting around. We have been head down, tranverse and back to head down this week. You are good. LIke PPs, don't even start to worry until 36 weeks, then just talk to your provider about it.

  • I had an ultrasound at 31 weeks and the baby was breech. I think he had just flipped a few days earlier.  He was also breech at my ultrasound a few days ago (33.5 weeks) but I think he was flipping in between. He may be flipping as I type this because I feel tons of movement/pressure. I've read in a few different places that about 15% of babies are breech at about 32 weeks and only 4-5% are at term, so that would mean a 2/3 chance of the baby flipping between now and your due date.
  • My little guy was breech 3 weeks ago at 31 weeks and some change. He flipped over and dropped yesterday (I watched it, it was insane).
  • My sister had been breach and my mom said she flipped 2 days before she was born!  Hold out hope until the very end!

  • My friends mom (while pregnant with friend) went to her doctors appt at the very end of her pregnancy and she was head down.  That night at home she watched her belly bulge out, flatten and then round back out.  She went into labor right after that and learned her LO had flipped breech.  So they really can flip at any time.  But I understand the peace of mind that comes with knowing your LO is in the right position.
  • i know how you feel! LO has been breech all along. My DH and I have done every trick in the book to try and get her to turn around. I swear some days I felt like she did, but every time I get an US, still breech. We are scheduled to have a verson done tomorrow (i'm soooo nervous) but hopefully it will work! I still have this small hope that she will be turned by tomorrow, haha. Either way, your LO still has tons of time!

    good luck!

  • My baby girl flipped at 37 weeks after 7 week of chiropractic work, accupuncture, different positions, walking, everything www.spinningbabies.com is a great website to check out.

You have time :)  Don't worry! Good luck

  • I am 34w 5d and my LO hasn't flipped yet .
  • My LO didn't flip until week 35.  If you're really concerned check out www.spinningbabies.com for information on how to help the baby flip.
  • Heck yes. I'm 37 weeks and baby flips on an almost daily basis... my doc had an u/s done at 36 weeks to confirm baby was transverse... he'd moved to frank breech, and by my appointment 7 hours later her was head down. DON'T worry about it at this point!
