championmama

Have you found out if this baby is a boy or girl? (or are you not finding out?)

Re: championmama

  • It's a Boy!  We found out the end of April.  I never have updated the ticker or anything.  I think my sig pics of the girls are from Spring Break the first week of April.  I may do that here in a bit:)
  • Oh super cool! Now you get to experience the wonderful world of boys! Have you had issues finding as many cute boy outfits? I swear there's 10x as many cute girl outfits as there are boys... :)

  • Yeah, I'm going to miss all the hairbows.  DH is glad, though, b/c I do tend to overspend on big bows and flowers.  One of the COTA's I work with makes them, and I have one made for about every outfit.  But, we'll do hats,  now!

We went to the Carter's Outlet in Sikeston a few weeks ago and I racked up.  Baby stuff was 70% off, and I had a 30% coupon that I'd printed off the internet.  I got gowns, blankets, and few outfits for the winter/spring.  You can only get so excited about button downs, khaki pants, and overalls, KWIM?

My cousin and his wife had a boy in September 2 years ago and she sold me some of his stuff that had come from Gymbo, J&J, and a children's boutique in town.  I've been there, too, and bought a few things, but I'm being very careful buying ahead, b/c I think he's going to be big.  Blaire was always right on with sizing, if not a little smaller.  Natalie kind of got ahead of the sizing around 9 months.  And, when I was pregnant with them, I always measured right on with my weeks, with Blaire I was a week behind.  This time, I'm measuring 10 days ahead, give or take.

  • Yes, I totally know what you mean. I'm sick of all the stripes on everything.

OH! That was you-- I didn't know you were in MO, how close to Sikeston are you? I'm in between STL and KC.

DS1 was 4wks early, but caught up and was right on with sizing too. But for some reason I'm really hesitant to buy a bunch for this lil guy yet, I just have a feeling that he will be bigger.

  • That was me?... that posted about the drive to Carter being worth it or not?  Yeah - that was me.

We decided to go ahead and go b/c DH wanted Lambert's and we made a day out of it by driving on to Cape Girardeau and going to Target, so it was a good day.  I was amazed at how much I saved.  And, that Carter's store has a good selection.  Kohl's and JCP don't hold a candle to it.  If it weren't for Lambert's right next door, and Target only 25 minutes further, I probably wouldn't drive there just for that.

We live in Paducah, KY, which is just over the Southern Illinois border over the I-24 bridge.  If we drive 30 mintues west and go over the Mississippi we enter into Missouri.  We're about 45 minutes from Sikeston.

  • yes sorry- the carters post :) that's what I was referring to.

I'm jealous- I've still never been to Lambert's but I always hear how great it is. I wasn't impressed with the Carters outlet up here by STL, I don't know why, but it just didn't seem like much of a deal.

  • You need to go.  We've made a tradition out of going Father's Day and it's usually worth the 2 hour wait in the hot sun.  Plus, my DH likes to buy fireworks in Charleston on the way home.  Can't buy them in KY.  I didn't want to do that being pregnant, so we walked right in and got a table on a Wednesday afternoon.

I forget how big the tea glasses are:)

Plus, SIL was planning a get together for Father's Day, but she's an idiot and didn't realize it was teh same weekend as her husband's sister's wedding out of town.

So, yesterday, DH got to vacuum his mom's house, then got Chinese for lunch and Mexican for dinner.

  • I'm going down south in Aug I think, maybe I'll be able to make it then. Is there always a 2hr wait?? Or just on Father's day/big event days?

That would suck to not be able to buy fireworks!! We have them everywhere, and one place is open year around.

I can't believe your SIL and MIL... seriously. I don't think I'd be able to contain my mouth with that recent surgery BS.

  • No - they stay busy, but it's huge.  Holidays/weekends are super busy.  But, generally, just during an average week, you should be able to get right in with a very short wait.  This was the first time we've not gone when everybody else tends to go.  A lot of their customer's are traveling through either to or from vacation, but I imagine most weekday lunches are pretty easy to get into.
  • awesome! thanks!

    Aw cute new sig!!!
