Infertility

Calling all sperm experts!

DH has always had a great count for S/A's and for the IUI's.  But...he owns a store on a boardwalk that's only open in the summer so he's there from about 9am to 1am 6 days a week.  The last IUI count was 1/2 what it normally was so he thinks it's "hot tub effect" from being in a store with 800* oven, 2 400* fryers and 85* heat daily.

There's nothing we can do about that, but is there any supplements he could take or foods he could eat to counter that?  Thanks!

  • He's right!  I know it sounds silly, but this is especially true for chefs.  Gordon Ramsey even joked about it.

Now, I know this will sound insane, but he should line his apron with aluminum foil.  This will protect him.  If you have one, a fire blanket is even better!

  • He doesn't wear an apron but he could probably put some inside of his shorts.  It would probably drive him crazy but he would do it!

  • Wow. I honestly can't believe I've never thought of this..my husband never, ever goes in hot tubs but he is a college coach (of an outdoor sport) and we live in Alabama. He's outside in 100+ degree weather 80% of the time.

Whoa...how did I never think of this before? Yikes.

  • It didn't occur to me until we had 1/2 the sperm all of a sudden!  If it makes you feel better his best friend is a chef and does private parties (in Miami) when he's off and they got KU first try.  Of course.  So it might not affect everyone.
