rash after one yr vax - mmr and chicken pox??

DD had her one year vaccines about 2 wks ago (inc. MMR and chicken pox) at the time the pedi did say she may develop a rash.  She developed a rash today and while at first I wasn't concerned...I am now.  Did anyone elses DC get a rash after the shots - if so do you mind describing it.  Of course I Googled and came across horror stories so now I'm freaked out.  I was going to wait and see if it is still there tomorrow before calling the pedi (since he did say it could happen and its nothing).  She seems fine except for the rash.

it looks like the measles, I think.  Why are you freaked out? Is it not what your doc said?

  • Pedi just said rash, didn't explain what exactly it would look like.  I am mostly freaked out because i came across a story of a child who developed a rash, pedi said it was OK, then the next day the child couldn't walk - you know, typical "google" stuff...  I was just wondering if anyone's DC got a rash so I could compare.  DD's looks almost like bug bites (but not blisters like pox) and its all over her, except her face which is still OK.
  • Yes, my pedi said to look out for a possible rash between 5-14 days after getting the MMR..

  • I had to get a Ruebella imm. a few years ago when I worked for a hospital system (required and it didn't show in my blood work I had had it).  My mom swears I did.  Oh well.  I developed a rash.  It did not itch and it went away in 3 days.  I was not contagious.
