So we have had a little girl's name picked out for three years now (just now expecting our first)....my SO comes to me the other day and said I was thinking maybe we should pick a different girl's name? WHAT????? We have told all of our family and friends the name and both love it (or so I thought) now 5 weeks before she is set to be here we are starting the name search all over again?
Re: Changing Your Mind????
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

As the day grows nearer, I can completely understand having second thoughts about the name you've chosen. I think it's reasonable to have a "back-up name" picked out and decide once baby arrives.
This is exactly the reason why we're not telling our family and friends what the name is... we wanted a surprise for them but we also wanted to have flexibility to change the name up until the day baby arrives.
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

We did this with DD. We were going to name her something different, announced her name to everyone after we found out we were having a girl and then found a name we loved 100x more a week later. If you're not 100% set on something and find something you love more, change it - don't worry about what others will think. I'm SO glad we changed our mind about DD's name, she's so not the name we had picked out and I don't think DH and I would've been happy had we not switched
My feelings are that you can change it at anytime you want.
Until the Birthcertificate comes and you have to pay $$ to change the baby name/
My Son Tristan was supposed to be a Garrett. Halfway through pregnancy i heard the name Tristan and loved it. DH liked it too.
We went back and forth for a bit then sent an e-mail to some of our very opinionated friends.
One responded "Garrett...Farrett. That is what I call my best friend"
This response forever ruind the name for me.
Good luck
