Baby Orajel

Danny is cutting his two bottom teeth and he is refusing to eat anymore than a couple of ounces, doesn't want to nap or play and just wants to cry or be held. Teething tablets aren't doing anything so I'm thinking about getting some Baby Orajel to help relieve some of his pain. Does this stuff work? Any other teething tips? Help!

Re: Baby Orajel

  • It works for us. So does teething rings. We found the teething biscuits nice too but they made me a nervous wreck.

  • We've never tried orajel, but the only other thing that seems to work for DD is motrin. She's currently getting at least 4 top teeth... she has been crying off and on all day, and she refuses to eat any solid food (bottles are hit or miss).

  • we never used it because the GI told us not to.  She siad it numbs more than just where you put it.  Both boys were reflux babies so we were told stay clear of it.

  • It works for us - I use it when it is bedtime or nap time - or when the motrin is starting to wear off.  It gives enough relief until he gets distracted from the pain or until it is time for more Motrin.  Not a miracle worker, but at least a little help - teething sucks!
