Should I be concerned? He's acting pretty normal and nursing well, although his appetite for solids is even worse than usual (he has eaten some, thoug). He's a little more tired than usual - he wanted to go down for both naps about 1/2 hour earlier. His fever is 102.1 - 102.5 using the temporal thermometer. He does have some molars trying to pop, but no excess drooling or anything today.
I gave him some Tylenol and put him down for his nap, hoping that the meds will wear off before bedtime and I can check the fever again.
When should I worry?
Re: 102.5 fever?
hm, could be roseola, which cal had 2 weeks ago...3 days of fever (highest was on day 2 at 104 degress), then 2 days later, a rash appeared. we only called the dr. once, on day 2, when we noticed that his lips were purplish and skin blotchy - dr. said that's normal when they have a fever b/c their blood shunts to their core.
i hope it's short-lived and he's fine!
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
Life is beautiful!
My DD #2 had horrible fevers 2 weeks ago. 102 - 103 and change. It would come down after medication, then 5 hours after it would go back up.
I called the pedi, she said to wait 3 days and if she was still feverish, bring her in. Three. THREE! Andbeing a good patient, I listened. And waited. And worried like hell.
Well, after the 2nd day of DD #2 feeling miserable and only nursing, I took her to the ER and she had a raging ear infection. It took 2 days for the antibiotic to kick in, and even then she had a horrible allergic reaction to it.
So now, I'm not fooling around with fevers. She gets one that lasts more than a day, we're sitting on the pedi's doorstep. I'm so angry I didn't do something sooner. She was really really in bad shape.
