RP Double Strollers: BOB duallie or Valco baby twin tri-mode

Does anyone have these double strollers? We have narrowed it down to the BOB duallie and Valco baby twin tri-mode. We have a 19 month old and a newborn on the way in a few weeks. With our DS we used the BOB as our main stroller and LOVE it. It's easy to use and have no complaints, except the seat itself seems a little uncomfortable for our DS. We also have a Maclaren for quick trips. But after some research we also found the Valco Baby Twin tri. We're just trying to figure out if we should go by what we are used to (BOB) or try something new. We know they are both bulky and heavy as a double and that's OK with us. Just after researching this is what we are choosing between. Any info is appreciated! TIA

Re: RP Double Strollers: BOB duallie or Valco baby twin tri-mode

  • I like the Valco Tri mode overt the bob double for one major reason.  It is not as wide, which makes it easier to get through a door.  I have a chariot double that is 32" (Bob) and a Mountain buggy Urban that is 29" (Valco).  You can get the 29" through any door, the 32", I often have to leave outside. Most stores, ect are ADA compliant, which allows the 29" to fit through, but not the 32".

They are both good quality, easy to push, ect.  If you did end up having a 3rd child, you can also get the toddler seat, which depending on where you live might up the resale value of the tri mode over the bob, since people don't have as many valcos and they are the only one with a 3rd seat option.

Oh, and I also like that the valco has a bar.  That is one thing I had on my single that I did not get on my doubles, that I miss.
