Milk??

This might be a dumb question.  If your LO drink a certain brand of milk, when you travel do you have a problem finding the certain brand you use? If you can't find it and use other brands does your LO have a reaction to it since they are not use to drinking that brand of milk?  My DD drinks a certain brand of organic milk and we are traveling out of the country next month, I'm worried she will have a reaction to a new milk she will be drinking.  I tried searching for the same brand to see where else has them, and looks like the places we are going to don't carry the same brand DD drinks.  tia.

Re: Milk??

  • I've never stuck to a certain brand. Depends which store I'm in - Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, etc. I try to buy the organic milk at each store. But occassionally I've made a mistake and got non-organic. I've never had any issues with switching.

Although I have had a weird experience with the Mother's Market organic milk. It had the weirdest smell. Not rotten, just strange. it tasted fine. But I didn't give DD any of it.

  • Last Summer we went to St Kitts and they didn't have "normal" milk - it was all the milk that is vacuum sealed, that you only refridgerate after opening.  DD knew no difference, drank it all the same.  I think your DD will be fine!  Maybe switch to a different brand the next time you go to the store, just to prepare her a little bit?

Ditto Luckiest in that we just buy organic at whatever store I'm at for the week.  DD has never had an issue tolerating different brands, although she has never had a sensitivity to foods/milk to begin with.  I might it only question if your LO has.

  • Thanks for all the response.  My DD doesn't have any sensitivity to milk (at least not yet) but then again she's been drinking the same brand of milk.  I got used to buying the milk she drinks and never occured to me to buy anything else.  Maybe I should start having her drink other brands so we don't have any problems. thanks again.
