Success after IF

28 weeks - I actually LOST weight?

I lost a pound in 2 weeks. Doc says he's not concerned but "please eat more" haha. It worried me because I actually felt a little smaller but my belly did measure bigger. Doc says that baby may have just expanded up instead of out in the last few weeks, which explains why I feel like I can't breathe. So fun. It's all very strange for me because I never got this big with Triggy! Anyway, I gotta eat more and sit on my butt more (I really did do too much while we were at the coast). But yeah, right, we move in a few days. That said, I have been told that I must sit somewhere and direct traffic. Haha.

Sorry about the rambling, anyone experience weight loss and/or feeling smaller? Oh, and AW - 28 weeks!!!! Wow, huh???

Re: 28 weeks - I actually LOST weight?

  • I had about 2 months that my weight would go down 1-2 pounds and then just hang there and would not go up, even though I felt I was eating everything in sight. Then right when I hit the 3rd tri I tacked on about 2lbs a week.

    Congrats on 28 weeks!!

A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • Wow, I can't believe you are 28 weeks already! You need to sit down and eat woman!!! Pack on those carbs. LOL!!! It is so different this time for you than when you were with Triggy. Make sure you are directing traffic during the move and eating some ice cream on the couch. Smile

  • I seriously can't believe you are 28 weeks already!!  so happy for you!!

I didn't start off small, like you, so its a little different in my case, but I've lost weight off and on during this pregnancy...I'm only up 5.5 pounds at this point, but I my fundal measurements are right on track...so the rest of me feels a lot smaller.  I've also noticed a trend since I started measuring my bump that sometimes it is smaller around than others...(and generally that's when he's sitting higher instead of hanging out all low).

Eat what you can and maybe think about finding easy ways to bump up your calories a little since you are such a small person to begin with.  Milkshakes, protein drinks, juice instead of water...those might be able to fill in the cracks without making you feel extra full.

  • I lost weight also between 26 and 30 weeks.  I am a teacher and it was back to school and I was just waaaaay overdoing it. :)  I started writing down what I was eating to make sure I was getting enough fat and calories and I stopped going to the gym.  I gained 2 pounds between 30 and 32 weeks and then lost 4 when I got the swine flu.  My belly kept measuring bigger, though, so it was just me who was losing weight - baby was getting everything she needed.

Take it easy (yeah, right!) and good luck with your move!
