I'm in week 38 of my last pregnancy ever and I just realized that I'm not prepared at all for this baby! I still have to see if 3 carseats fit in the back seat and in which case if they don't, I have to order the Radian which will take who knows how long to come in, the crib needs to be adjusted to the right height, I need to pack a bag and I just remembered that I haven't pre-registered at the hospital yet. I know I want to keep this baby in for as long as possible, but now I think I'm seriously in denial and someone needs to put a flame under my a$$! TY, rant over.
Re: I think I'm in denial...
I know, having someone else tell me this actually helps! You would think being 4 & 2 weeks early with the previous 2 would be enough to have had me ready 7 weeks ago! I'm on it! (after I get home from work that is...
)
OK - put this in perspective.
Car seats - eh - are all three going to be in the car to come home from the hospital? Probably not. Just do this when you can, but before you know when you will need all 3 in the car.
Crib height - newborns don't care what height their crib is. Use it at whatever height you want.
Packed bag - throw the camera, cell phone, a few toiletries in a bag and the baby book when you head to the hospital and have DH bring whatever you forgot later if you don't get it packed before you go into labor
Pre-reg at the hospital - My hospital allowed me to register online. Maybe yours does too. Go to their site now and check it out. That's one thing off the list!
I was the same way you were. I had two friends deliver 4 weeks early, and that got me thinking when I was about the stage you are that I needed to get going. Good luck!
I ordered my Radian from Diapers.com and got it the next day with free shipping!
I know how you feel, I'm 37.5 weeks pregnant with my last pregnacy and I don't even have the crib set up yet.
