What are you getting DH for Father's Day?

I am at a loss. I did order his favorite beer and got some new pics of DD for his office. He works so hard on the house and stuff that I'd like to get him something he really enjoys.

Audrey is going to make him a crown too. I guess I should have paid attention to all the craft posts!

  • a card from me and one from the boys. Then a nice dinner out (just me maybe). maybe a movie, since he loves the theatre.

  • I'm getting my DH a gift card for a masssage. He's been complaining about hurting for a while now, so I figure he'll enjoy it. Smile

  • I was thinking about getting him a certificate for the driving range.  I'll see if I can stop by this week.  He's already "thrilled" that we are going to a wedding that he REALLY doesn't want to go to next weekend, so I should get him something to make up for it.

  • I want to get him an attachment for his riding lawnmower that will catch the grass clippings, but I think they are pretty expensive :(  We have a huge yard that he has to cut twice a week, and has to spend a good amount of time raking up clippings.  He's actually out there now, speeding through it!

  • Here's a pretty easy craft we just did for fun while the kids were sick, with stuff right out of your pantry.

Mix 3/4 cup water, 1-1/2 c flour, 1-1/2 c salt and 1 Tbs vegetable oil into a dough.   Knead until smooth.  Roll out with rolling pin into about 1/2 inch thickness.  Cut with a wide mouth glass or prep bowl into circles.  Use rocks or colored glass beads (the kind you get a for $1 a bag to put into vases) and embed into the dough to make designs (we also did handprints).  Bake 250 oven for 25 minutes.

Voila.  Instant artwork.  You can also add a few drops of food coloring to the water before you mix in the other stuff to give the dough some color, but we didn't have food coloring. But I let the kids paint theirs afterwards.  I don't know if I want to keep the handprints or give them to their grandfather as a gift.

DH just bought a boat.  So that is his Father's Day present.  : )

I had thought of getting him something small, but I don't think I will since we will be out so much on the boat.
