Our daughter, Rory, was born yesterday morning. It has been a crazy 48 hours but we couldnt' be happier.
We got into town late Thursday afternoon, just in time to check in to our hotel and go meet our caseworker and birthparents for dinner. We never met the birthdad last time and my husband had never even gotten to talk to him. Dinner was good. BM said that the baby was crazy active that day and she thought she knew it was about time. After dinner we made plans for the next morning. She was scheduled to go to the hospital at 5:30 am to be admitted for her induction. We were supposed to come in around 9.
At 5am yesterday morning we got a call. Her water had broke! She was on the way to the hospital. I knew how quickly H had arrived so we were literally out the door in 1 minute.
Our daughter was born at a little over an hour after we got there. We were both in the room again and I got to play an active part in the delivery. It wasn't as much a blur this time because we were so relaxed. The delivery went very smoothly and she is very healthy. A bit smaller than her brother but she looks identical to him in every other way.
We spent the rest of the day with our daughter and the birthmom. The hospital even gave us a room to use for when the BM wanted to nap. We are still sleeping at the hotel though to (1) get some rest and (2) give the BM more alone time.
This morning we were scheduled to sign the papers at 7am. There had been some drama with the BD (same as H's) yesterday and today he decided he wasn't going to sign. After a lot of tears on my part and a lot of legal talk about what this meant, he signed the papers three hours later. He had no desire to parent but was trying to play a power card. I'm pretty disappointed that this is the main memory I will have of him.
Everything else today was wonderful. We spent the day with R and the BM. Playing games, watching movies and talking a lot. Both BM and Rory will be released tomorrow and we head to the rental house we got while waiting for ICPC.
We are so so blessed!

Thank you everyone for all the sweet comments. We got out of the hospital yesterday and are spending the week in the most relaxing setting I could imagine. We rented a cabin back in the woods along a stream. We are excited to get home to her brother, but we are enjoying our alone time with her for this week.
So far she is the complete opposite of H when he was a newborn. She eats like a like a piggy and wants to be cuddled 24/7. No complaints there!
We had a great last day with the BM yesterday. We feel like we have finally figured out our relationship and we are hoping that she is taking her life in another direction. I helped her make some decisions on birth control and we even got some in her before she was discharged. Step 1 in the right direction.
We found out that H and R's full biological brother (who is 2) is now going towards adoption. (he is in foster) We told her we are at capacity but that we would love to have a relationship with his new adoptive family to keep a connection with the kids. This seemed to bring her much more peace about that situation.
Thanks all and I will update once H and R meet!
She's beautiful!! I am glad things are going so well. And I love the name Rory!! Too sweet!!
Wow, she is beautiful. You are so right, God has blessed you so much. Congratulations.
