we have a similar chair for Griffin and actually just took it out of the play area b/c it just gets used as a climbing structure with the twins and = dangerous. We'll bring it out when they are closer to 18mo I think- that is when we got it for Griffin and he was good about sitting in it and not climbing on it.

true re. climbing! maybe vivi can just sit on the floor for a while longer
I got Emerson hers about 9 months and she has used it every day since.
ETA-Emerson climbs hers as well but, it doesn't bother me.
how cute!
i've heard that twins get into stuff more than singletons. i have nothing to compare it to, but they are climbing all over each other and getting into things together, already. the chairs might mean lots of boo boos.
think i'll try one out at a friend's house to see.
I picked up a similar toddler chair yesterday at a consignment store. Will loves it but has been climbing all over it. Today he was climbing it--I didn't even see quite what happened--but he managed to face-plant onto the carpet and cried VERY hard for a while. Still had a red mark on his face when he went to bed an hour later. I felt bad for him. So it might depend on the kid. I still plan to leave it out for a while and encourage them to *sit* in the chair but if that keeps happening I'll put it away for a while.
If you have a climber like our younger son, it doesn't matter what is in the room... they're going to find something to climb on!! May as well have it be a soft chair ; ) Our guy was already climbing gates when he was 8 months old. Now he's approaching 2 and we've had to remove our coffee and end tables from our living room, as well as the toy box and pack n play. He was climbing on or in all of them. He's such a rebel and loves adventure!
~Crystal~SAHM to Sam (5), Hugh (3), Mary & Grace (22 months) : )

Mine got theirs at 13 months -- they sit in them and climb in them and that's half of the fun
Two chairs back-to-back means at least 30 minutes of hard-playing fun and a good nap!
