Finger Foods

I'll admit, I am terrified of Caroline choking. Terr-i-fied...

She is ready to start chewing/gnawing on some foods, but I have been too chicken to give her anything.

She has had MumMums, and even they scare me a little because she bites off big pieces.  Tell me about biter biscuits...are they scary too?

What would be some great finger foods that she is unlikely to choke on?

TIA

Re: Finger Foods

  • I was terrified for Maddy too, I would say the best thing at her age is Mum Mum's. I think I broke the Gerber stars up into 40 million pieces, but I can't think of anything she was having at that age. Have you ever tried the Mum Mum's yourself?...they literally do just melt in your mouth. Hope that helps.

  • I was so scared of choking too - I actually really didn't like the Mum Mums, those made me too nervous! I started DS on the Target puffs (they are smaller than the Gerber ones). From there we did soft scrambled eggs (our pedi was fine with this), soft fruits (watermelon, blueberries cut in half) and black beans. It took me a long time to be comfortable with meats and even cheerios (which a lot of our friends started earlier). I also wasn't excited about breads like pancakes and bagels - too worried they'd get gummy.
  • I was afraid of choking so at first we stayed with the things that melt like mum mums, puffs, and yogurt melts. I would stay away from Bitter Biscuits for 2 reasons #1, they are really big and #2 they are MESSY!!! We have 2 boxes that we given to us by my mom as a Easter present but hayden doesn't really like them so they will probably get wasted.
