1. follie check today confirmed that things are as they should be, and I'm set to ovulate when I need to. I've booked my flights, appointments and consult with Dr. GoldenTicket for later in the month, and we're crossing all things to hope this round of testing shows us something. Uff dah.
2. we went to an informational mtg tonite at one of "thee" RE's here in town. Long story short, it appears we'll qualify for their warranty program, and at worst case, they have a sliding fee program where 1st IVF is one price, need another? it's cheaper. other? cheaper yet. No money back on that one, but it's something for us OOP folks. I chased the Medical Director down after the show, and handed him my history and testing sheet. (it's a thing of beauty). I said "this here is a tricky case. No one has been up to the challenge. You got what it takes, doc? Wanna solve my riddle?"
And I quote "Oh, I do like a challenge!" and he snapped it up like he hadn't eaten in weeks. We talked a bit about endo (he's a huge "fan" of that being a reason for unexplained IF) and even cited the spicy Dr. Sher a bit... said he wants to review my stuff, and talk. After hearing briefly of my history, he says "I can accept you into the warranty program" (duh, really? that easy?ok, great!) and says "I hope I can help you."
Yeh, buddy, me too. I like him, he's funny (an RE with a sense of humor? yesss!) and the clinic locations can work for us. Even if it's to try femara/IUI's or something 1st. Best part, is we can "lock and load" on the warranty program by the end of the month and save $4K (price goes up on my bday) and then start the cycle in a few weeks if indeed IVF is what's in store. (time to do a lap, testing, etc.)
So.... Plan A. check.
Backup plan B... check. (almost)
HOWEVER... today was tainted by a talk with my now UN-favorite doc, Dr. Hee. Let's be honest, I've spent the past 2 yrs telling him what to do with me. Whatever. So today I explain the endo testing beta-3 thing... blah blah... and he says "Oh, endo... that's my thing!"
Um, you fecktard, if that's YOUR THING... WHY DIDN"T YOU EVEN SUSPECT THIS IN ME BEFORE???????????????? Dolt. The whole nite I've been shaking my head over that comment. fecking pissant. oh well, whatever. is what it is. but that was tough to hear.
As for my sanity? I'm coming around. Davez and I went to our old stomping grounds after the meeting tonite, where we went EVERY thurs nite for the 1st 3 years of our marriage. The second we walked in, our favorite waitress in the WORLD saw us, freaked, and it was so great to see her, and have things be just as they ever were. Like we were'nt broken, and everything was alright in the world. Plus I still kicked Davez arse in NTN trivia. So I still got something on him. lol.
So yeah. Giddy up.
One more time.
Re: Lil' update on moi. Finally some decent news.
Great to read your update, and great to hear you optimistic. I am pulling for you, as always. Sounds like this new doctor is a great step.
I can't remember, have you had a laparoscopy to look for endo?
I am thankful every day for my miracle after infertility.
And thrilled to be pregnant again after FET!
I smiled from start to finish, which is saying a LOT considering my younger DD is sick as spit and I haven't slept and my tonsils are huge and I have to travel with both kids tomorrow on the train for 3 hours without DH.
Still, I smiled for and at you. Got everything crossed for ya, kid. Glad you got back up on the horse.
I'd like to kick Dr. Hee's a$$ for you if you don't mind. Stupid comment. Stupid doctor. Glad he's gone. Even more glad that things are moving in the right direction for you. Save a horse, ride a cowboy.
Yeah your old RE really isn't doing it for me anymore...but I'm so glad that you also found a local doc that seems ready to deal with all that is DW and all that comes with DW!
Great update!! I'm so glad that you found someone who is genuinely excited about your case!! and the warranty options sound promising!!
but my favorite part? That you and Davez got to go be normal for a little while!! (And that you kicked his butt at NTN! I heart ntn!!)
(((HUGS))) This all has a good vibe about it!
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
Life is beautiful!
thanks everyone. really. I woke up this morning DIFFERENTLY. I feel different. I mean, let's be honest, I'm still broke and we don't know what's wrong. These tests could be nothing. Hell, Dr. Challenge (lol) even says I can have the lap (and I will soon) and it can still show no real endo laying around, and I can still have it somewhere they don't see. He seems to think we're onto something. (just from our surface talk as I cornered him)
So that's closer than I've gotten. ever. light. end. tunnel, I guess.
I hope. ;-)
ps - Davez was chuckling all nite over me pouncing on the doc, and whipping out my beautiful cycle history sheet. I guess he's never seen this lady chasing what she wants. lol. must have done something for him too, for we had a nice romp, FOR THE HECK OF IT.... lol. what?????????

It sounds like you're going in the right direction. I hope this new doctor figures out your case and can help you have a successful pregnancy. Good luck!!!
Also, I'm SO glad you kicked Dr. Hee to the curb. I would be beyond furious at that comment he made about endo. Idiot.
BFP with no treatment!
Sorry to be late reading this, but other than the idiot day-late-and-a-dollar-short RE, this is all fantastic!
I'm thrilled to hear your trip is on -- LMK if you'll have time to meet up mid-way or something!
And YAY for an RE who loves a challenge AND has a sense of humor AND who will get to work with you guys right away. That's just EXCELLENT.
Very cool about your old stomping grounds...sounds like it was exactly what you needed.
Very, very happy for you, T!!!
