Screaming While Solid Feeding

DD is so overly excited when she sees the jar or spoon or any food we're eating that she starts to whine and kick frantically. Yet, when I feed her (which us so difficult because she grabs the spoon and won't give it back for the next bite! She ends up wearing so much more than she eats! I've ever tried using multiple spoons and letting her hold 2!) she enjoys the first few bites and then SCREAMS bloody freakin' murder. I have no choice but to stop. She continues to scream. Commence feeding again.... repeat.

What is UP with that?

My dd didn't scream but she did try to grab the spoon.  We ended up giving her a sippie, empty bowl and spoon to hold onto.  Can she feed herself pick-ups?  Our daughter has always done better taking a spoon if she has something she can feed herself too.  This sounds bad but if we ever had a tough day getting her to take a spoon we could sneak a spoonful in as she was opening her mouth to put a puff in.  :)  GL!

  • I've all but given up purees and have better luck shoving bits of soft food into Ana's mouth. I can dodge her hands better that way. I'm also working on getting her to feed herself a little early. Good luck!!
