I'm taking Sam to the Picture People tonight. DH is out of town, so we are going to do some pics for FD. DH covets the framed shots I have in my office so I want to get something for him. They said to bring something meaningful to DH - like relating to a hobby or job. DH is a scientist - I suppose I could bring a flask or something like that, but it might just be kind of creepy! He's big into fly fishing, but again, I'm not sure that flies (with hooks, etc) are great for the baby to be holding or playing with.
Instead I'm thinking about just pics with me and Sam.
Also - I have a onesie for Sam from the Gap that says "I love Daddy." Too... weird for a dad? It's cute but DH kind of reacted strangely when I showed it to him.
Help a gal out Thanks!

Ahah! I just remembered we have a t-shirt with DH's alma mater on it
Perfect.
ETA: I love the hat idea - but DH just wears a ball cap, so unless I could find little baby waders, I would be kind of SOL on that one. Something to keep in mind for the future though because it would be AHdorable.

I think a picture of sam (sans props) with his mama sounds perfect!

I just made the biggest score - a colleague down the hall runs a program for high school students to spend time in labs during the summer. I asked if she had any science-y type stuff that I could use as a prop for photos. Lo and behold, she has a 2 foot long DNA model. This, plus Sam in a white onesie is going to be the cutest thing ever.
Dang it - I can't get the picture to upload but trust me, it will be sheer nerdy awesomeness.
