Babies: 9 - 12 Months

If you've started transitioning to whole milk...

When did you start? How did you make the switch?

Re: If you've started transitioning to whole milk...

  • Started yesterday!  So far, I'm just using milk to mix her rice cereal in the mornings and giving some in a sippy with "dinner."  Her dinner normally consists of a jar of puree veggies/meat and some kind of finger food (i.e. puffs, fruit pieces, pasta, etc.).

  • We started about 1 month ago and just started substituting a few ounces in each bottle and offering it straight in a sippy at meals.
  • Same as pp a little in his sippy with meals I have noticed a big difference in his poop sorry to be graphic! Any one else notice a difference?

She has only been on it for one day (and only had about 4 ounces) but I thought her poop looked better.  Sorry to be TMI, but she normally had very hard "pellets" and now it is much softer.  I'm thinking that she was a little constipated before and maybe this is helping her.

  • So how do you transition? I do formula now, so I do like 2 oz of formula mixed in with 2 oz of whole milk in a bottle?
