9 month wake-ful period?

Not sure what is up, but the past week Stella has been waking up crying at 4am.  She normally sleeps through the night, but all of a sudden she's starting this 4am business.  It usually takes a bottle or at least some rocking to get her back to sleep again.  Has anyone else experienced this?  If so, why do you think it's happening?  Please tell me it was short-lived.  I need Stella sleeping through the night again once the new baby comes.

Re: 9 month wake-ful period?

  • We had a period around 9 months where she refused to nap.  I think it is just heightened awareness of her world and not wanting to be alone.  But for us, it passed pretty quickly!

  • Naps suck and every once in awhile they will wake up at night.

  • Yeah, now that you say it...naps aren't what they used to be either!  I hope this passes and soon!

  • 9 months for us was really hard. She was waking up crying in the middle of the night, refused to go to sleep and naps were horrible. It lasted for about 3 weeks. She is now back to STN and naps are not a problem. She even started waking up later. She now sleeps from 7 to 7. I hope Stella starts STN again.
