Babies: 9 - 12 Months

What does your LO wear to sleep?

DD has been wearing just her footed pajamas, but she's starting to grow out of her 9 month ones.  I was about to buy some new ones in a larger size, but started wondering if maybe I should try something different.  The weather is getting warmer, (although we usually just keep her room around 70-75F,) so I was thinking of maybe just putting her in a onesie.  Then I thought about a cotton sleep sack, but she rolls around a lot at night.  Wouldn't she get all twisted up in it?  What does your LO sleep in?  Oh, and as a side question, does your LO sleep with a blanket or a lovie?  TIA!

Re: What does your LO wear to sleep?

  • She wears a onesie and sleep sack. She has never got twisted in the sleep sack yet.

She does not use a blanket or lovie b/c it's a SIDS risk. I know some people consider them out of the risk after 6 months or after they are mobile, but I'm going by the SIDS research that says they are not completely out of risk until 1 year.

  • Once DD started pulling up I didn't feel comfortable putting her in footie pajamas because the sizes she's in don't have tread on the feet! Around that same time it got hot here, so now she just sleeps in a onesie. We keep our AC on about 75, but her room is definitely pretty warm. Oh, and she has a fairly solid stuffed animal lovie that her ped okay'ed.

  • He sleeps in pants and shirt PJ's, either long or short sleeved. ?I have a cotton sleep sack that I was putting him in, but he is getting really squirmy so the past few nights he's been going without. ?He does sleep with his Cloud B Cuddle Cub, and a light receiving blanket.
  • tshirt & diaper or onesie.  we keep the house about 73 at night w/the ceiling fan on medium.

ds is very hot natured so any more clothing and he would be sweating!  he also sleeps with a light blanket.

  • He wears long-sleeved pajamas and a light sleep sack for nights and a blanket for naps. He doesn't really get tangled in the sleep sack though, even though he's all over the place.
  • LO wears Carters 12 month one piece footed PJ's and has a light blanket loose on top of him.  He moves all over the place at night but I am not worried about him tangling up in the blanket since he can get out of it so easy.
  • one more thing.... Carters has 12-24 month one piece Footed PJ's with tread on the feet.

    Just an example:

  • We do Halo sleepsacks rather then loose blankets (cotton in the summer, fleece in the winter, and layer underneather accordingly).  DS1 never had troubles with rolling around in a sleepsack, but Halo now makes ones with foot holes for toddlers to help with that.

  • Now that it's warmer we have him sleeping in shorts and a short-sleeved sleep set from Carter's.  They have soft fabric...which I like.  He also has some short-sleeve shirts sets with thin cotton pants.  He sleeps with a blanket every night.  I like the Aden & Anais ones - we have 2 summer and 1 winter one.  No lovie just yet.  His blanket is his lovie, he rubs his face with it during the last bottle.
