How annoying would this be?

My parents are visiting from out of state next week. It so happens that my 16 week appt/ultrasound is next week as well. DH thought last night that they may want to go to the ultrasound with us.

The rooms are small, but they could fit in there, out of the way. They would go back to the waiting room during my actual appt. obviously.

How annoying would it be to bring your parents to your u/s so they could see the baby in action and hear the heartbeat?

Should I call the OB's office and ask them first?

Thanks!

My MIL is coming with us for the anatomy scan and my parents are coming in to town the same day.  I don't want MIL knowing all my business so Im doing the same thing, except Im going to have her wait first, and then come in later to see LO in action. Im not really thrilled with the idea.

I would call and ask your OB office what their policy is.  If you don't mind, then I don't see what the big deal is with what you proposed.

I would call and ask first. You don't want to show up with a bunch of people and be told no.

I would ask first, too. I know that in my OB's office, you are not allowed to bring children under 5 in with you and besides you and the tech, only 2 other people are allowed in the room. I know every office is different and everybody is different. (Meaning, I would not want anyone but DH and the tech in the room...my parents nag too much.)

My MIL came to our ultrasound last week and just waited in the waiting room for the rest. She lives across the country, so it was very cool for her to go. I don't think the doctor minds, but I might ask first.

My sister and niece came to my 12wk and listened to the heartbeat with me.  It took them a while to find the heartbeat so I'm glad my niece was there so I could tell myself not to freak out in front of her!  She's 14 and just starting to get interested in such things.  I kicked her out before my pap though and told her that the longer she holds off on sex, the longer she can wait to have one.  Nothing like a little fear to promote waiting.  Heehee. :)

My parents went...both mom and dad cried seeing their first grand baby. Amazingly they sat quietly through the entire thing!

I would call and ask first.  DH, my mom and MIL was in the room with me. But at first it was just me and DH while the tech took the measurements then DH went out to get them. So we got longer to see Emily than what they did.  But I wanted it to be like that where dh & I go in first b/c MIL would be a total pain about it.

This time at my US, my DH, my DS, my mom, my grandma, and my MIL came.  It was a big room (even had a TV on the wall to see it).  The US tech brought in extra chairs and everything was fine.

I wouldn't want anyone there except DH. It's not a party.

If you are comfortable with it, I don't see why it should be a problem. Enjoy!
