Hi ladies,
I want to get with the whole potty training thing soon and was wonderfing if you could point me to what I need to buy.
Are there any specific potties you like?
I am clueless and don't know if there is more to the potty that I need to get.
Thanks!!!
Re: potty training mama's..I got ?'s
We got 2 baby bjorn potties, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. Now that she is good at going on the "big potty" we keep it in the living room (I know, not my top choice) because when I'm nursing the baby I want her to be able to go quickly. I also think it's good to have more than one and have it out in the living space because the more they see it the more they are thinking about it and the more successful they are. It's when she's occupied and "busy" that she has accidents.
I like the bjorn because it small, lightweight and fits her well

we've always just used the regular toilet with a stool (plastic cheaper from Target) perched in front of it. I held her early on, but now she does it all by herself. (cuz she's two).
I also got 3 of the Bjorn knockoffs at Ikea, for $3 each. She likes to "go with momma" so there's one in my bathroom, one in the trunk for emergencies, and now one for the boat. lol.
On a tiny note - once she starts going, help her wipe for longer than you think. I was letting Ava do it solo a bit too early, and she ended up with a repeat nasty reddness in her peekachoo. (just from the pee, I always help with poop cleanup)
Just buy something cheap and that is easy to clean. I also preferred the toilet inserts on the big potty since cleaning the little one revolted me for some reason. I bought one where the 'ring' unsnapped from the little potty and could go on the regular one pretty easily.
And ditto the wiping help....get some toddler wipes for poop that can be flushed, just to make things easier on you.
