Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Does your baby put his or her head down when approached by a stranger?

Most of the tme, J is very friendly toward strangers but occasionally he'll do this head thing. A sales lady talked to him when we were shopping today and he just dipped his head down shyly and then peeked up and smiled at her. Cutest thing ever!!

The best is when I'm holding him and he'll bury his head in my shoulder for a minute.

  • DS does this all the time.  Kind of buries his head in my shoulder.  I think he's flirting because he'll do it and then look up and smile.  He does this with people he knows and sees all of the time.

  • Yes he'll slowly put his head down on my shoulder while still watching the stranger.  He usually starts smiling after his head is down.  I guess he feels safe at that point and assumes it's alright to smile!?  So flippin cute!!!!

She does that a lot - even to me when her daddy is holding her and vice versa. I think she's figured out that we think it's adorable.

Lauryn does it all.the.time.  She is definitely the shy one and if she could, I think she would crawl back in.

  • DS does this a lot. Even with people he knows, it's too precious...where do they learn it?!
  • Yep, DD buries her head in my shoulder. And gets a very serious face!

Oh, if it's a stranger, she also sucks her thumb while checking them out. It's pretty much the cutest thing ever.

  • She'll do it when she's being playful but if she's not then she just stares at them.
