constipation?

My baby is so contstipated.  I called the doc yesterday and they said mix karo syrup with 1 oz water...so  I did that last night and nothing happened.  So today I just tried it again and now he just puked up on me.  He is in so much pain.  What do I do?

    have you tried stimulating with a q-tip? this is what we do and dd goes within seconds. We also just started karo but put a teaspoon in with her formula...it hasn't worked yet. We have also tried a half of a pedi. suppository and that works quickly also!

    We put on oz of prune juice in their bottle- works everytime...

    My health visitor said give 4 oz of fresh squeezed orange juice (1/2 juice, 1/2 water) every day for no longer than a week. DS poops more often now, and it's seeming to help soften his stool too. We've been doing this for two days now.

    We're going to try switching his formula as well, to see if that makes a difference.
