DD is turning one on the 19th. I'm trying to decide if I want to have a theme or not for her party. She has many boy cousins coming so I didn' want to make it too girly. Any ideas on the following would be helpful:
what will DD wear for her big day?
what will be in goody bags?
will party hats/blowouts etc. be girly or neutral?
should I have activities for children attending? (mostly cousins...all from ages 2-8)
It's a noon party and we are having a bbq, but do I still need to serve coffee after?
if you can think of anything else please don't hesitate to add your comments....
Thanks!!!
Re: 1st bday party ideas??? please help!
I think if you are having a bbq, this ladybug theme would be cute. https://pisforparty.blogspot.com/2010/06/real-parties-ladybug-soiree.html
The green and red is fun but not too girly. Also, my DD will be wearing a tutu with a 1 appliqued on her shirt.
I would try to have activities if there will be several older children. At a minimum you could have coloring pages with ladybugs, etc or have them paint their own ladybug or just bug (for boys).
As for goody bags, I think bubbles are fun no matter what age the kids are.

DD is the only girl thus far so everything was very neutral. She wore a pink dress though.
The theme was Mod Monkey. I got the goodie bags from 1stwishes.com, they came with a little coloring activity book and crayons, a stuffed monkey, a monkey sticker, and I put bubbles and snacks in them as well.
I just had balls, chalk, and other yard games for the adults and kids to play with. It seemed to work well.
