Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Eli's surgery is scheduled

The earliest they could get him in was June 17, but at least that's next week.  His right ear drum ruptured which is why all that stuff was draining, but it has actually been a good thing.  He was a totally different baby yesterday evening and last night.  And the ENT doctor told us not to worry about the ear drum.  It's not uncommon for that to happen and they are going to have to put an incision in it anyway for the tube, so nothing to worry about.  And it gets him some relief.

Eli went to bed at 9:00, up at 1:00 for a bottle, then back to the crib until 5:15 this morning.  Now that's my Eli!

If Ben wouldn't have had a tummy ache last night, we might have actually gotten some decent sleep.  Sigh.

  • I am so glad you have Eli's surgery scheduled!  We were actaully at the pedi for Milina's 1st ear infection yesterday and he was talking about how if we saw stuff draining that meant the eardrum ruptured but not to worry, just call right away and how that actually releases all the pressure for your LO and it is not painful...anyways...I hope these tubes take care of teh problem for your LO for good!  and I hope ben's tummy gets better and you get some much needed rest!!!

  • Awww, good luck!  I hope the guys feel better!

I'm going to add it to their bath water too!

  • GL with the surgery.

I have ruptured both my eardrums. It is not fun, but I have perfect hearing. I did it when I was little and then when I was 23yrs old. It hurt much more when I was older.
