Is there a resource someone with recommended stuff?  Now that DH is home from surgery, I feel I can move onto phase 2- baby time!!!

  • You can probably ask on some of the baby boards, or some moms of 2+ can give you ideas!

    My best suggestions are:

camera, nursing cover, coming home outfit, something comfy for you to lounge in and come home in (track suits, athletic pants, etc), granny panties, toiletries, ear plugs (for napping during labor and sleeping better at night between feedings), an eye mask to wear to sleep (despite it being nighttime, there are lights EVERYWHERE - beeping ones, flashing ones, hall lights, etc), baby book, boppy if you think you'll need it (I didn't in the hospital, but I never used it for nursing), your own pillow if you are particular...

  • in addition to the above, our birth-prep class recommended bringing a rolling pin or tennis ball for counter pressure, a birthing ball if you want to use one (some hospitals provide their own; others require you to pre-register your birthing ball), and flavored ice pops is you don't want to chomp on ice chips.

  • I honestly didn't pack much in my hospital bag. I threw it together while I had a towel between my legs to soak up my water that was leaking! I just took some pj's - EXTRA UNDIES, a couple baby's outfits, some basic toiletries and the camera and computer. I got by just fine. And I still didn't use half the stuff I brought since they give you everything in the hospital.
