What are you serving at your LO's first birhday?

I want to serve like mini burgers and other kinds of mini food but I can't think of what else to do.  I had a suprise party for my husband a couple of years ago and served mini burgers, mini crawfish pies, chips and cheese dip, we had a mashed potini bar, and a chocolate fountain and cake of course.  I would love to have all snack food like this but more kid friendly food.  Any suggestions?

  • We're doing "the Very Hungry Caterpillar" theme and are going to serve everything he ate as well as a chicken salad some pasta and Dominican beef patties.

For some reason my mind is drawing a blank thinking about mini foods lol

  • Definately nothing mini- DH is a big guy and he and most of the other guys would give me the side eye if I gave them mini anything. But since I anticipate hot weather in August we will be firing up the grill and doing some burgers- turkey and beef for the kids and then grilled chicken and tri tip for the adults with pesto pasta salad and other sides.

  • I'm just doing pizza... I may make a side or two. It's a pool party so I wanted to do something as easy as possible.

  • We are also serving all of the food from teh book The Very Hingry Caterpillar, and more!  The only "mini" thing I can think of are mini finger sandwiches and mini hotdogs.  Good luck!

  • Can't think of anything mini, but with DS's egg allergy, we aren't serving anything that contains egg. Hamburgers, hotdogs, pasta salad, fruit salad, and egg free cake.
