I go to Albany Obstetrics and Gynecology. Today I scheduled my first OB visit for 11 weeks (right after I graduate from the RE). My gynecologist at Alb Ob/Gyn isn't an OB, basically I have to switch to her colleagues in the practice. I have no issue with this, but I asked who my OB would be in the practice and if I had a choice.
I was told that I didn't have a choice and that all of the doctors would be servicing me as they rotate. I am kind of not okay with this. I feel like being a twin pregnancy I would like to have one doctor assigned to me that specializes in high-risk or twin pregnancies, just in case.
I'm thinking now that I would like to switch offices so that I get one on one attention and would love recommendations.
I went to the Albany Med Women's Wellness Center. They used to be in the med building on Troy-Schen Road in Latham, but now they are right by Albany Med.
At first I actually didn't like the practice, but the OBs have a lot of experience and are affiliated with the hospital, so it was a good experience. There are prob 6-8+ Drs in the practice. Not sure if that would bother you, but they all seemed to be experienced, and they all showed concern about my situation (I had a complicated first birth and a lot of damage), which I really appreciated.
We see Dr. Burstyn at Capital Region OBGYN- its her own practice, with a NP, and everyone seems to have experience with twins, even the ultrasound tech (and they have 4D). She used to be with McGrinder, so she has experience with a big practice, but my DW wanted to know her own Dr and not have it be a game of chance.
Just as an aside- who was your RE? Seems twins are in the water in Albany these days- we've met three other couples in the last few weeks expecting two or more! Wonder if we all went to the same place?

Nikki- I go to your same practice and have the same OB- I didnt think I was going to like using them for my pregnancy but it wasnt too bad and most of the time I actually saw the same doctor...
however, for my delivery I had their fill in doctor and he was great.
Congrats on the pregnancy! H&H 9 months!
