Need recs for a new monitor--NOT Sony Baby Call!

So we registered for the Sony Baby Call monitor after reading all the good reviews for it on BRU and after several Bumpies mentioned how much they liked it. We got it for a shower gift. It worked great at first, and I loved that it had a rechargable battery.

But after a couple of months, it would randomly beep, like it was out of range. But we'd be in the next room from the nursery. We figured it needed a different channel, and DH fiddled with it. Nothing worked, and now it beeps like it is out of range all the time, even if we are in the next room from DD.

So now here we are, 11 months later, looking for a new monitor! Please recommend yours if you like it!

We also bought the Sony Baby Call after using it at my MIL's house. It worked so well there, but at our house it did that beeping too, and would occasionally have static. I even bought a second one... same thing.

We've gone through a few, but surprisingly enough - the one we use at home is a $10 monitor from Wal-Mart. It only has one receiver which is the biggest drawback, but it's extremely clear and sensitive (you can hear every noise) and we've been using it for months and never had a problem.

Not sure of the name, but it was the cheapest one we found there!

I haven't found a good monitor yet. Thankfully our house is pretty small and we don't really have use for the monitor much.

We have a safety first one that is ok. We use it when we go outside and she is napping and haven't had it go out of range or anything.

The same thing happened to our sony monitor! ?I was so happy with it for the first 6 months, too. ?We got a First Years digital monitor from BRU to replace the Sony one. ?It was about $60, I think, ?Much better!
