I have a "traditional" digital video camera but I don't even know the brand, because I NEVER use it. I have an HD flip and it is so darn easy I have no need for the other one.
We have a Creative Labs handheld video thingy that does decently for short videos, but you can't really consider it a camcorder since it doesn't really zoom or anything.
I second the Sony Handycam with a hard drive in it. My boss has one (I end up managing all his video and camera stuff) and it is very easy to use, make dvd's for family etc.
My mom was thinking about a flip for us. So she probably won't want to buy your other one.
BTW, have you recieved any of your Baby Idol prizes yet?
NO. I'm kinda pissy about it too. I had to hunt someone down to call about it and they said "we are just waiting on a few things". After a THREE MONTH CONTEST. Haven't heard back from them.

I'm pisssed off for you. It's stupid that they didn't get their act together in the three months they had before it ended!
I don't know how much they are looking to spend, but this is the one my parents got us. Canon Vixia HF M300. The thing is ah.may.zing. It takes amazing quality videos, is super easy to use, and is nice and small. It fits right into my hand. It may cost more, but it will last us for a loooong time.

We just bought the HD Flip too. Love, love, love it!
It starts recording so quickly. We bought it to keep in her diaper bag/my purse so we can catch the adorable things she does.
