Parenting after 35

I avoided a major disaster yesterday.

Yesterday afternoon I was getting some ice out of the freezer.  I opened the freenzer door and the next thing I know this glass bowl starts falling. It was a bowl that we used in our wedding for the candy buffet. Apparently, it was sitting on the edge where the door opens.

I try to catch it, but that didn't happen. It crashes to the floor and I end up with 3 small cuts on my left hand. They were bleeding pretty bad which I think made them look worse than they were. My hand is sore today, but I think it's ok - hopefully no glass it still in there! Our kitchen floor is ceramic tile so that thing really shattered!

I am SO thankful that I wasn't holding Logan at the time!!!

  • Sorry you broke your bowl but glad to hear that Logan wasn't anywhere near.   Hope you heal up soon : )
  • Glass breaking makes me so panicky now that we have LO. I feel like there are still tiny shards of glass everywhere. We have ceramic tile also and glass shatters to a million pieces. Good thing you were alone! Hope your hand gets better soon.

I live in fear of Caroline being a victim of my clumsiness (not that you were clumsy).

  • Yikes!  What a close one.  Glad you are mostly unscathed and that Logan was not with you when it happened.
    DD1 is 3, DD2 is 1.
  • Take pieces of soft bread and "mop" the floor with it.  Should pick up every little bit of the glass.
