I posted on EFF and didn't get any responses, so thought I would try asking you ladies.
Since researching about parabens and phtalates for DS, I have started looking into using more natural/organic skincare/makeup for myself. But it is so overwhelming and confusing! I looked up things on the EWG Skin Deep, but alot of products that claim to be organic/natural sometimes have worse ratings than regular makeup. I also can't really afford some of the really expensive lines either.
Does anyone have a line or products that they can recommend, that they know are paraben and phthalate free? TIA!
Re: NBR: Natural/organic skincare/makeup
I found a line of cosmetics recently called Zuii from Australia that are pretty nice. They are paraben and phthalate free. Smashbox Halo powder is also paraben and talc free.
I also enjoy Desert Essence products. They are free from a lot of things (including what you mentioned) and tend to fare pretty well on the EWG skin deep site. I've used their moisturizer, hair products and body wash.
I use Burt's Bees facial products to wash with and an Avalon organic moisturizer.
I hope this helps!

Hi, I am a lurker, but wanted to add that I use Rejuva minerals. They get a good rating on skindeep and work fairly well.

i've been using alima mineral makeup after seeing it reviewed on safemama. i am not a big makeup girl tho, so i don't use much of the product line.
i'm always on the hunt for good mascara tho.
and a good spf moisturizer.
Looks good so far! Thanks!
I'm just a lurker, but I wanted to second the recommendation for Everyday Minerals. I use the powder foundation, an anti-shine powder (kaolin powder), and blush. I don't wear eye shadow a lot but I have some samples from there that I've used and liked as well.
My only wish is that they had eye liner and eye brow color in pencil form - they have powder versions but I like the convenience of a pencil.
Thanks for the rec for Desert Essence. They have an organics line that is paraben/phthalate free in addition to all kinds of other stuff. They are very reasonably priced too! I found some things on Amazon that was even cheaper and free shipping. Thanks!
