Baby Names

WDYT of Ian?

This is the only boy name at the moment my DH likes that I don't hate.  The issue is, the more I say it, the more I convince myself I don't like it.  Does it sound too feminine? The MN is going to be David.

Thoughts?

  • I love the name Ian! Unfortunately I can't use it because Ian David was an angel baby in our family.

  • not feminie at all to me.
  • It definitely doesn't sound feminine, just British. Like Simon.
  • If you aren't completely crazy about it, find something else!  I'm sure there will be another name DH likes.

How about something similar like Ethan?

My parent's neighbors have a son named Ian...he is seriously one of the coolest kids ever (total individual, grew his hair out to donate to locks of love, great personality...and he is 14 now), so I have a great impression of Ians.

  • Ian David is a great name to me. It sounds strong and athletic.
  • Love it....not too feminine.

  • I like it alot.  Not feminine at all.
  • I love it. I'm actually really considering it because it's the Scottish version of John - my dad is named John and he's also half Scottish.
